Icehotel is a hotel and an art exhibition with ever-changing art made out of ice and snow. Icehotel is created in a new guise every winter, completely made out of natural ice from Torne River, one of Sweden’s national rivers and last untouched waters. When the winter suites have melted back into the river in spring, a part of the hotel still stands, a place where visitors can experience the ice and snow year-round.

For you who easily get cold feet or simply are searching for a cosy living to nestle under the duvets in between thrilling activities at Icehotel. Choose between traditional hotel rooms or chalets. Perfect to combine with one night amongst ice art to get the most out of your experience.

Our hotel rooms are named Kaamos after the beautiful pastel colored arctic light on the sky, when the sun is below the horizon but its rays are refracted by the atmosphere of the earth, during Polar night. The rooms are spacious and comfortable with a calm feel. Natural materials are complemented by organic shades of white, grey and brown. All rooms are ground floor level with spruce and birch as your next door neighbors. There are two categories in this room type; Kaamos and Kaamos Superior.

Our international kitchen brigade puts a cosmopolitan twist to the local ingredients, sourced from the region’s rivers, mountains, marshes and forests. Here you can enjoy local dishes and unique drinks – all served on ice if you’d like to.
