Hotel Union Geiranger - Geiranger

Location: Geiranger Hotel Rating: 4 Star

Hotel Union is a family-run hotel that is situated on a hill just above the centre of the tourist village of Geiranger, with a fantastic view of the fjords and mountains.

Julie and Karl Mjelva bought Hotel Union Geiranger in 1899. The industrious family also established a car factory, a power plant and a cooker factory in the area. Hotel Union has been extended and restored a number of times.

What was left of the old wooden hotel was demolished in 1979. The hotel has since been extended to include a modern course and conference department, swimming pools, a new top floor with 13 suites, a vintage car exhibition, a nightclub, a spa section and new activities on offer both indoors and outdoors.

The great Union atmosphere, of quality and service across generations, continues with hosts Monja and Sindre Mjelva. They are the fourth generation of hotel hosts.

Room with fjord view - This is the room for those who enjoy a good view, with spectacular views of the Geirangerfjord. The room has its own sofa group, room for two extra beds, and a bathroom with a bathtub. The rooms have a TV, minibar, phone, bathroom with hairdryer, dressing gown and slippers. Wireless internet is naturally included.

Our philosophy is to make good, traditional Norwegian food from the very best ingredients. Restaurant Julie has a brasserie menu, and you can enjoy the popular Union buffet at Restaurant Fjorden. You can also enjoy a light meal at Kafé Løsta, right beside Union Bad & Spa. We have three bars for different occasions, the lobby bar, the theme bar Vognfabrikken and a nightclub on the lower-ground floor.
